5 Ideas to Celebrate Valentine’s Day from Our Members!

Will you celebrate Valentine’s Day this year?

We may still be in the middle of a global pandemic, but Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly! The LEO Team wanted to share some fun ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day given the circumstances, so we asked our LEO Community Facebook group members how they plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They shared some great pandemic-friendly ideas, and we included some of our own! ????

We know that not all of our members are in relationships, and others may be unable to see their partners due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place where they live. Fortunately, all the activities we’ve suggested below would also be super fun to do with friends or even alone! Many of them are kid-friendly as well, in case you have little ones!

1. Have a Special Dinner

Many of our members told us they’re sharing a meal with their special someone to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Some plan to prepare a fancier-than-usual meal at home, while others plan to order in from a restaurant (may we suggest redeeming your LEO points for Uber Eats credits?) or order a meal kit. Add some candles for ambience and some delicious dessert (like fondue!), and you’re good to go.

2. Build a Vision Board for Your Next Getaway

It isn’t advisable to be travelling now due to the pandemic. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t dream about the future! With your special someone, you can create a physical or electronic vision board for the next trip you’d like to take! Grab a stack of old magazines, use a PowerPoint, or create a board on Pinterest! What activities do you want to participate in? What sights do you want to see? The sky’s the limit!

3. Watch a Romantic Comedy (Or a Different Love Story)

Pandemic or no pandemic, Valentine’s Day is a great time to curl up and watch a movie: it’s cold outside! If you’d like to incorporate a fun component, head to Pinterest or Google “Valentine’s Day Bingo.” Every time a particular event happens in the movie you’re watching, you can check off a square: whoever gets a bingo first wins!

4. Play a Game or Do a Puzzle

What is your favourite board game? For the occasion, may we suggest Candyland? If you’re not a fan of board games or live alone, doing a Valentine’s Day-themed puzzle could be really fun. There’s still time to order one featuring candy, chocolate, or flowers!

5. Send a Valentine to a Friend or Family Member

The pandemic has severely restricted our ability to get together with the people we love. Why not make special valentines to send to your loved ones? This is a great way to bring an unexpected smile to someone’s face, whether your valentine is travelling from town to town or across the country.
