That’s the question we asked the community on June 5

9,628 members responded. 

If you answered no, you’re among the 45 % of LEO community members who don’t plan to mark the occasion:

• 45 % of respondents do not plan to celebrate, 
• 29 % said yes — they already have plans for July 1st, 
• and 27 % said they’re not sure yet. 

In other words, Canada Day is far from unanimous this year. 

So who’s still to celebrating? 

It’s men aged 18 to 24, with 47 % saying they plan to take part. On the flip side, it’s women aged 55 and over who are the least likely to celebrate, with 48 % saying no. The most uncertain? Women aged 18 to 24, with 33 % unsure. 

The most celebratory province is Saskatchewan, where nearly one in two residents said yes. 

Meanwhile, in Quebec, only 1 in 10 respondents plans to celebrate.

This isn’t a scientific poll — it’s based on voluntary responses from the LEO community — but it shows a clear trend across the country.
