Press.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-spread-of-the-omicron-variant\">The Spread of the Omicron Variant<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Canadians (83%) are more likely than Americans (67%) to believe that COVID-19 vaccines are <strong>effective<\/strong> at ensuring that if a person gets COVID-19, they will <strong>not get sick enough to require hospitalization or suffer major complications<\/strong>.<\/li><li>More than six-in-ten Canadians support implementing <strong>measures<\/strong> specifically related to <strong>vaccination status<\/strong>, including:<ul><li>Only allowing those who have <strong>proof of vaccination<\/strong> to shop in person at <strong>malls<\/strong> and <strong>retail<\/strong> outlets (excluding grocery stores), government-run <strong>liquor<\/strong> and <strong>cannabis<\/strong> stores and use<strong> public transit<\/strong><\/li><li>Creating <strong>separate areas in hospitals<\/strong> and clinics specifically for unvaccinated patients<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/leger360.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Support-implementing-measures-specifically-related-to-vaccine-status_EN_2022-01-10-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"More than decision<\/strong> by returning to lockdowns and restrictions<\/li><li>31% of Canadians and 40% of Americans feel that <strong>governments need to leave things open<\/strong> and Canadians\/Americans need to live with the risk posed by the virus<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The proportion of Canadians and Americans who think the <strong>worst<\/strong> of the COVID-19 crisis is <strong>behind us <\/strong>is <strong>trending downward<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Canadians\u2019 <strong>satisfaction<\/strong> with the measures put in place by all levels of <strong>government<\/strong> (federal, provincial, municipal) to fight the COVID-19 pandemic is <strong>trending downward<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-daf4d710-79a6-4472-89e4-fb5890c74505\">METHODOLOGY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-d10bec84-091b-40ee-9af3-a4f8fb88eb3e\">This web survey was conducted from January 7 to 9, 2022 with 1,547 Canadians\u00a0and\u00a01,014 Americans, 18 years of age or older, randomly recruited from LEO\u2019s online panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To view
