{"id":6724,"date":"2025-09-29T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-29T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/?p=6724"},"modified":"2025-09-30T15:34:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-30T19:34:12","slug":"happy-cities-canada-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/en\/surveys\/happy-cities-canada-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy Cities: Canadians\u2019 happiness in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Where are the happiest Canadians in 2025?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every year, thousands of LEO members answer a series of questions on their well-being, mood, and quality of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your answers help us build a complete picture of happiness as it is experienced across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/leger360.com\/in-the-news-leger-new-happiness-index\/\">2025 edition of Leger\u2019s Happy Cities Index<\/a> is here. This result reflects Canadians\u2019 resilience, defying growing daily hardships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall, the Happiness Index has stayed the same. But, behind this average happiness level, Canadians are living different realities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>49%<\/strong> of respondents say that their happiness level hasn\u2019t changed.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>28%<\/strong> say their well-being has gotten worse&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>23%<\/strong> feel happier compared to last year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Quebec, the happiest province in Canada<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2025, Quebec once again cemented itself as the happiest province in the country, with an average of 72.4 out of 100, well above the national average.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the flip side, Prince Edward Island (66.5) and Manitoba (66.7) find themselves at the bottom of the ranking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Young people are embracing life<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even though they have lower average scores than the national average, 18\u201334-year-olds saw the most improvement in their well-being over the last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>39%<\/strong> of <strong>18\u201324 year olds<\/strong> said they are happier now than last year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>36%<\/strong> of <strong>25\u201334 year olds<\/strong> say they are happier now than last year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is an encouraging trend, particularly given the difficult years they\u2019ve recently endured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2470535305-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"According to Happy Cities study, young people are embracing life, shown by a diverse group of smiling friends enjoying time together outdoors in the sun.\" class=\"wp-image-6718\" style=\"width:500px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2470535305-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2470535305-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2470535305-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.legeropinion.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/shutterstock_2470535305-1536x1025.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Happiness isn\u2019t the same everywhere<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the numbers are generally encouraging, there are gaps that appear when considering age, gender, regional realities and living conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certain groups are struggling to keep their hopes up, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>35\u201354 year olds<\/strong>, who have seen their happiness stagnate, or even drop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Men<\/strong>, who have a slightly lower score than women.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These differences show that happiness isn\u2019t only about the decisions we make, it\u2019s also deeply tied to the situations we live through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Every answer counts<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thanks to your engagement and willingness to have your voice hear, Leger was able to get a credible and nuanced grasp on Canadians\u2019 well-being in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The LEO members that answered this survey allowed us to better understand that happiness is not just an individual matter. I was feeling like crap for about a year (I&#8217;m 79) and finally the reason was found. I now have 2 STENTS in my aortic artery and feel like I&#8217;m 55 again. I can walk where ever I want to go without risking another heart attack. That of course changed my mood and attitude in general. Us old farts fly drones, helicopters and kites in the North Common while sipping on a cold Corona with lime. Love it! My unhappiness is the cost of everything (especially bank rates although better now) and that a family making good money still find it difficult to travel. Everything is so expensive, like Disney or Nickelodean. It&#8217;s unfortunate that alot of children will never be able to experience that as children. I believe that if the cost of flights and resorts were cut in half then I believe more people would be traveling and the airlines and resorts would make more money than the amount of people that pay the current rates and travel now. Life is hard and EVERY family should be able to enjoy at least 1 vacation a year to wherever they want to go, no matter the cost because they would have the money but the way it is now, nobody can save. The average person lives pay cheque to pay cheque and THAT is what makes me sad!!!! mean it should affect our mood negatively. If we look for it happiness can be found anywhere and everywhere.
